    Fine

Posted by William Brand on 22nd Jul 2017

Design's fine. Not the prettiest shoes I've seen, but they don't look ugly.

Sole appears to be wood, which I understand can be common with shoes of this quality, but are definitely too slippery for rainy Seattle winters. Going to have to take these to a cobbler and get them resoled or something, and since I don't like the idea of doing that every time I buy a pair of shoes, I probably won't be shopping at John Doe again.

In summary, shoes seem fine, but probably not for me, or anyone else who plans to walk in rain. Will probably continue to recommend to friends with milder commutes though.

    Great color, quality shoe

Posted by Jon Chen on 7th Mar 2017

Have had this shoe for about 6 months now and they've been good to me. The burgundy color goes with just about any color suit: black, grey, charcoal, blue. The only small issue is that it came with a few scuff marks and blemishes when they arrived. Have not gotten around to polishing them yet.

    Very nice shoes

First time buying high quality leather shoes and I am very impressed. Leather is good quality, the sole is solid and slick. The color is spot on as well. Fit's true to size, haven't worn them excessively so time will tell how they last, but satisfied with my purchase for ~$200 CAD.
