This ain't ordinary Chromexcel. North of the Cordovan is one way to name these beautiful horsehide strips. Located just above the area where Shell Cordovan is sourced, this leather has a beautiful shine and a tight grain. We love its versatility, while cowhide Chromexcel might not be the best choice for formal footwear, this one looks fantastic. But don't be fooled by the shiny and smooth surface, this leather can take a beating. Oxfords, chukkas, boots, loafers, chelseas. I can't think of a style that won't look great on horsehide Chromexcel.
Estimated shipping time: 3-4 weeks after order is placed.
Had jds make me a pair of cap toe milo last 420 boots in this leather. The horsehide is thick, durable, and shiny. Good abrasion resistance, manufacturing was very good. Speed hooks seem a little flimsy and there was some loose grain/grain break on the sides, but you’re getting a lot of boot for the money. Would buy again.
Have been a long time customer of multiple shoe companies, Loake, meermin, Allen Edmonds for patent leather shoes, and I can say these horsehide shoes are incredible. Got them in the bennucci and they have been fantastic with the rubber formal sole, the horsehide leather has an incredible shine and brilliance to it (and feels very robust also)...compared to these other brands, you simply will not find leather this good for the price anywhere else. The complaints about build quality that others have had I have not experienced in the slightest - these were really well made and I look forward to the lifetime of ownership!!!
